01 Pererenan Sunday tournaments
A café on Jalan Babadan in Pererenan, with a chess tournament every Sunday at 5 PM Bali time. Boards are provided, so you do not need to bring your own.
Sunday tournaments run from 5 PM to about 9:30 PM (WITA, UTC+8). Message the café for registration details and any changes to the usual schedule.

02 Denpasar Café and chess events
A café on Jalan Diponegoro that hosts chess events, including the Cofflight Junior Chess League. A place for coffee and over-the-board competition in central Denpasar.
Message the café on WhatsApp for the next chess session or tournament, registration details, and whether you need to bring a board.

03 Kuta Local chess club
Benteng Majapahit Chess Club (BMCC) brings players together over boards beside a small local shop, with games, coffee, and conversation. Our original guide describes a warm welcome for visitors among the local regulars.
Evenings, especially weekends, were the suggested time in our original guide. Ask the players about their WhatsApp group for local games and tournament news.

04 Denpasar Casual park chess
A game at a park table, often with a few spectators following the moves. The original guide describes informal games among people who bring their own boards.
Bring a board and pieces, look for a game already in progress, and ask to join. There is no confirmed playing schedule in this guide.

05 Canggu Check before visiting for chess

A venue in Canggu where chess may happen occasionally. Check with the venue before heading over for a game.
Ask the venue whether anyone is playing before making a trip specifically for chess. No regular sessions are reported.

A chess club in Pemecutan Klod, West Denpasar, with a community active in local tournaments.
Message the club on WhatsApp to ask when players gather and how visitors can join a game or an event.

07 Sanur Coaching for local children
Chess coaching for local children at Hangar Sanur. Pion Mas is a lesson venue and does not offer walk-in sparring games.
Message the club on WhatsApp about children's coaching, enrolment and the lesson timetable. Arrange a visit with the club first.

08 Jimbaran Coaching for local children
Chess coaching for local children on the second floor of the Jimbaran local government office (Kantor Kelurahan Jimbaran). The squad does not offer walk-in sparring games.
Student lessons take place every Monday and Thursday, 4:30–6:00 PM Bali time (WITA, UTC+8), on the second floor.

09 Denpasar Neighbourhood chess club
A neighbourhood chess spot in Sidakarya, with boards set out beside a small shop and tables under a shaded roof.
Look for the Raja Pendidikan Chess Club banner on Jalan Pendidikan. Playing times have not yet been confirmed; ask the players about their usual sessions when you visit.

10 Kuta Chess by the sea
Casual games in the beachside gazebos near the airport. The original photographs show local players in the shade, with boats and the shoreline close by.
The original directions approach from Jerman Beach, walking south for about ten minutes towards the gazebos. Use the photographs to recognise the setting; bring sunscreen and water.
